The Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) has offered a competitive basketball league for 2nd through 5th graders since 2001. Prior to 2001, this basketball league was operated by Bruins Youth Sports which was merged with Titans Youth Sports to become the current Cherry Creek Youth Sports (CCYS) organization.
The AYL basketball league has grown from 76 teams since its inception in 2001 to 122 teams in 2009-10. For the 2010-11 season the AYL will be now be offering 6th grade boys and girls basketball. Currently eight out of nine AYL member clubs (Cherry Creek, Dolphins, Falcons, Hawks, Spartans, Panthers, Patriots and Warriors) are participating in the league. Teams from each participating club are formed based on the grade, not by age, and by defined geographic area. Teams in each grade can enter into one of the two divisions, 0 and 1 division. 0 division is for players that would like to play in a competitive environment while 1 division is a less competitive bracket. Each participating club is responsible for player registration. Normally basketball registration will start in early October and contact each participating youth sports club if you are looking for registration information.
The AYL basketball board is committed to provide a youth competitive basketball program of high quality. Should you have any questions or comments about this basketball league, please do not hesitate to contact your club delegate or click here to email to the secretary of this basketball league.
